Louis continued to drink the sinful liquid, feeling his strength return little by little. His eyes opened widely, staring blankly forward. He hated what he had become, but the feeling of the blood rushing down his throat filled his damned soul with such sweet ecstasy.

Lestat hissed as he finally hit the breaking point with Louis. Lestat turned and stroked Louis' cheek. His fledgling seemed to be worlds away. "Stop." Lestat murmured. He knew Louis would stop, that his mortal coil would kick in and he would be forced to stop by his own conscience.

Louis finally snapped back to reality when Lestat spoke to him. He peered up into Lestat's eyes and released his grip on his arm. He with drew his teeth and hands and sat up, wiping his mouth with his hands and making sure he was clean. "Thank you." He had a vacant expression on his face, like he had just accidentally murdered a small child.

Lestat sighed when he noted Louis' face. "Always so sour faced Louis. No one died." Lestat moved to sit closer to him, and brushed some of his dark hair over one of his shoulders. "You should allow me tie your hair back with a ribbon at some point." Lestat's hand smoothed over Louis' back. "It is the current style."

Louis simply sat there in silence, his head hung down. "I did." he muttered under his breath. As Lestat moved his hair away from his face and his hand ran down his back, Louis tensed a little. When he mentioned the ribbon Louis scoffed. "That's your thing, not mine, Lestat. I happen to like my hair this way."

Lestat threw his hands up. More melancholy nonsense, courtesy of Louis. "Would you have rather rotted in the cold Earth? Or would you rater be alive now?" Lestat really didn't understand the constant whining. "As do I Louis, but I simply thought that it would suit you."

Louis crossed his arms over his chest and and crossed his legs as well, scoffing and turning his head to look away from Lestat. Behaving like somewhat of a petulant child was an every day occurrence for him now and he wasn't sure if it was his new nature, or simply how he always had been. "You've condemned me to hell." he said, hushed and low with a slight taste of bitterness.

Lestat snorted. "Hell? Hell? I know no hell, and if even if there is a hell, do you honestly think that they would want us there?" Lestat stood and placed his hands behind his back before he began pacing back and forth in the little room. "You are acting like a child Louis, you do realize this yes? At least you had a choice." The last sentence was spat from between Lestat's lips.

Louis rolled his eyes and continued turning his body as Lestat moved about the room so he couldn't see his face. He scoffed a bit then began to speak. "If you call asking a slowly dying man if he wants the pain to go away a choice." He knew he probably should have just kept his mouth shut, but the constant knowledge that the man he was now living with nearly killed him then killed his soul was something he just could not bare.

Lestat threw his hands into the air again. "Throw yourself into a fire pit then Louis. If you are that miserable." Lestat didn't actually mean that. Of course he didn't, that's exactly what his master did to him. "I was forced into this, you know that. If you had told me to just kill you I would have."

Louis scoffed again and stood up, walking towards the door. "Oh, I'm sure you would have." He continued to steadily walk to the door, his arm reaching for the handle as he got close to it. "And you wouldn't have even blinked an eye." He turned the knob and began to exit the room, planning to leave Lestat in the basement to have his fit.

Lestat sighed. "Louis, stay with me." Lestat hated being alone, which is one of the many reasons why he made Louis his companion. "I can't understand what you are going through, god abandoned me long before I was given the Dark Gift." He ran a hand through his hair. Being locked away in the country was starting to drive him to his wits end. "Talk to me."

Louis paused halfway out the door and turned back to Lestat. "There's nothing to talk about." He simply stood there in silence, staring at the floor and seeming to be waiting for permission to leave the room. "I should probably make an appearance at some point, or they'll start to worry."

"I will go with you then." Lestat moved to stand near Louis and he reached one hand out to stroke his fledgling's cheek. "If you appear without me I am sure they will talk." Lestat didn't honestly care if they did. Louis' servants were crude human beings, and Lestat wanted nothing more than to kill every last one of them.

Louis shook his head and allowed Lestat to touch him, turning away almost immediately and walking out the door into a narrow hallway leading to a staircase. "They would only talk because you haven't left my side since you arrived. Perhaps if you ventured out a little, they wouldn't be so suspicious of you."
