David had situated himself in the corner of the outdoor seating area, far away from the rest of the patrons. He coffee cup was empty beside him and the small desert plate before him held only crumbs and small smears of left over filling from the danish he had eaten earlier. He diligently typed away on his laptop, words seeming to flow out of his fingers effortlessly. I will finish this chapter today, he thought. He paused himself briefly, pulling a pack out of his jacket pocket and removing a cigarette and lighter. He placed the cigarette in his mouth, flicking the light immediately after and bringing it up to meat the tip of the tobacco stick. Once it was lit sufficiently he placed the lighter on the table and took a drag off the cigarette, inhaling swiftly and motioning with his other hand for the server. Once he had his attention, he tapped his coffee cup, signaling for a refill.

The alien female was in normal human clothing, dark blue running shoes, a pair of jeans and a beige tank top, exposing her tails and 4 arms, walking on the streets, just being alone sometimes felt great. Ukume usually had at least one body guard with her, nearly all the time, but right now, she felt that she really needed to be alone. As she was walking, she got quite a few stares, but did not really care, she has gotten so much stares every since she first landed on Terra that she was really used to it, especially due to being a popular singer.
The very tall alien saw a nice cafe in the distance, alongside other lovely cafes and other such street side open restaurants. She decided to visit it, just for the pleasure of it. She entered the low iron gate, noting the charming and nice looking iron fence as well, something that added character to the whole cafe, along with the nice flowers.
Ukume sat down at a table that was next to where another person, was using his laptop and smoking. She took the menu that was there, and started to study it, first wanting 2-3 beers, but she was actually a bit hungry. She would order some kind of food, in a bit, and was thinking of eating 1 or 2 pizzas. She tried ignoring the very strong scent of the smoke and while the smoke had no effect on her eyes or lungs, the smell was really strong for her nose. After a minute or so of figuring out her drink, she motioned for a waitress to come over, and gave her order; a large, liter sized Olympic Dark, a nice darker colored beer, which was actually from her own brewery. She was happy about the fact that the cafe had her beers.

Immediately after signaling to the waiter, David noticed an extremely peculiar looking woman walking through the gate of the cafe. At first glance, she was a petite, dark-skinned thing in comfortable street clothes. What really confused him was the sight of two, long tails protruding from her backside that seemed to move on their own. He blinked a few times, trying to redirect his attention to his work and the waiter approaching the table to fill his mug.
"Thank you, so much." he said to the young boy, flashing him a smile and taking the cup in his hand to drink from it.
The woman had made her way to the table next to him, but his did his best to ignore her anyway, taking another drag from his cigarette and flicking the loose end into the ashtray. He tried to focus on the screen in front of him, rereading the work he hand already on it. But once he heard the girls order, his attention was redirected again.
Beer? he thought to himself. Interesting, doesn't look the type. And a decent stout at that.

After she gave her order of beer, she looked around, glancing at the person at the next table and pausing, growing wide eyed. David Bowie was sitting next to her. This fact cause her to grin widely getting a little excited. "My gosh... David Bowie... it is an honor to meet you in person." Ukume spoke with an unusual, African sounding accent, which was actually how she learned to speak English on her home planet. She used 3 of her arms to wave at him, as a way to greet him, without shaking his hands or bugging him. It was funny that even after personally knowing many of the biggest names in the music world, she still had a lot of excitement when meeting other popular singers or artists.
And a few seconds later, her beer arrived, and she happily watched as it was placed down in front of her. She took it in one of her left hands and started drinking the otherwise pretty strong beer as if it was almost water. While it was not the strongest beer in her brands, even she would start to feel slight effects of the alcohol after 3-4 liters of it. After drinking a little more than half of the liter in one go, she put the glass mug down and took the menu in her hands.
"It is a really great day to be out in the open, in such a good weather." The alien said to David, while she took the menu into her hands and opened it. She started studying what kind of foods the cafe offered. Pizza, salads, pasta, pretty nice selection of each one, as Ukume found out. She motioned towards her waitress and after the female came over, Ukume ordered a large pizza with tuna and one large pizza with ham on it. She figured that she would eat a large salad after the pizzas, but she had to leave in 3 hours, as she had a concert to perform at.

Hearing the woman incorrectly recognize him as that blasted "Bowie" man, David looked up at the new arrival. He was really very tired of being mistaken for this guy and wished they didn't look so alike. Smiling at her, he replied, being as polite as he could muster.
"While your recognition is flattering and I realize the resemblance is somewhat ridiculous, I am not Bowie. If I was I most definitely wouldn't be using this piece of shit they mistakenly marketed as a laptop."
The woman's beer arrived just after he finished speaking and he watched in amazement as the girl drank it down with ease. Being an avid drinker, he was rather used to strong brews, but even he had a difficult time with this particular stout. He eyebrows crinkled a bit as he looked at her with slight confusion as she spoke to him again. While trying to formulate his next statement, the girl ordered quite a large amount of food. He looked her up and down again, finally noticing the extra appendages sticking out of her torso and tilting his head a bit.
"Getting food to go as well? Or do you expect to finish all that food yourself?" he chuckled a bit, electing to ignore her interesting appearance. He had seen similar, after all.

As the person introduced himself, as not being Bowie, Ukume looked at him as he spoke, and grew fairly less confident in the process. "Oh, well, I understand. I do apologize for the mistake." Ukume said with only a faint smile. She did, however, grin a little at the comment about his laptop. "Well, people do not buy a new laptop every year, and most use them for a long time for humans standards...so there is nothing wrong with an old laptop." Ukume shrugged slightly. After she made her order of the 2 pizzas and 1 large salad, Ukume watched as the waitress walked away with her order, and was then spoken to by the person.
She smiled at him, shaking her head. "No, I will be eating all that right here, along with 2 or 3 more of Olympic Dark beer." She said. Being able to eat and drink several times more than any human could during a single meal, it was just so natural for her that she did not even realize it.
She then took her mug and readied it to drink, drinking the rest of the great tasting liquid that was still in the mug. Ukume then put the mug down, and patiently waited for her pizzas. Suddenly, however, she grew very tense as she saw that something was flying right towards her. She grew really scared for a second, thinking it was some combat drone sent to kill her and yelled out in her native alien language. She used her non human speed and got up, unintentionally shoving her chair backwards with her legs as she got up, and used her sleeve to backhand slap the something away from flying into her head. Unintentionally she could not hold back her strength, making the thing sail against the side of a car that was parked there and fall to the ground, but did not explode. She then saw that it was just a pigeon, and that her lashing out, accidentally killed it from using unrestrained strength. She then grunted in annoyance, and the end of her tails where swaying in a slightly fast pace. She was annoyed, and also a little guilty for lashing out, and killing the poor bird, but her memories of the invasion and battles of her planet where forever seared into her mind.

David smirked and took a rather large gulp of his fresh coffee just as the girl began speaking to him. While e listened to her voice, he reveled in the taste swirling around in his mouth. He loved and appreciated a good coffee, almost as passionately as top shelf alcohol. This cafe was one of the only in the city that had this specific blend that he enjoyed. It was a bit far from his flat, but the scenic walk on a bright sunny day like today made it worth it in his eyes.
He acknowledged her statement with a wave of his hand and a grunt prior to swallowing. He was getting ready to respond to a multiple of topics currently being discussed when the girl suddenly began to react. He pushed back his chair watching as the strange looking woman swatted a bird into a nearby car. He was paralyzed. What in the world just happened?! e thought to himself. Perhaps I should begin to work my way out of this conversation and get home. This woman is mad.
"I, uh," he began trying to formulate some kind of response rather than just sitting there with his mouth agape. "A-Are you....quite alright, love?"

She stared at the bird for another second before cursing in her native language, her brain was still flooded with memories of the horrific invasion and following desperate battles. These memories was something that she just would never be able to forget. She then wiped the back of her hand a few times, wanting to get some of the dirtiness off, before she shook her head to shake the terrible memories away.
"Yes, I am totally fine...it is that...I thought that the bird was something else that was attacking me." She explained and went over to pull her chair back into place. "I apologize for that, I can assure you, that I am not an insane gal, only a mild case of PTSD due to earlier combat experiences." She explained to David with a frown and then motioned for the waitress to come over. Ukume ordered 3 more liter sized beers of the same brand. After a moment of confused pause, the waitress took her order, and went inside to prepare the drinks.
"As you can tell, I am not exactly totally human." She smirked slightly, hoping that her non human appearance and abilities would not really scare him off.

David nodded his head as the woman spoke to him, now somewhat understanding the girl's reaction to the bird. He took a final swig of his coffee and placed the now empty cup on the table. He lit another cigarette and took a long, deep drag from it prior to rest him hands on his lap.
"Understood. My father, rest his soul, was a vet. I can at least acknowledge that it is difficult from outside experience." He took another drag from his cigarette. "And, I am very aware of you not being human." he said with a snicker. "I supposed I have some experience in that as well."

Ukume smirked when David said that he had some experience in non humans. "Well...I am not exactly...from around here, either." Ukume smirked with a slight grin, but then grew serious as she never forgot exactly where she was from...a planet that was devastated by war, a planet that she had to leave in time of the most severe crisis.
"But I got around...kept myself busy, build a nice business...alcohol, hospitality, gaming, real estate, entertainment. Not too large but large enough." Ukume shrugged. "Like this fantastic liquid here...is actually from one of my breweries or brewpubs." Ukume said, looking back and her beer for a few long seconds, thinking about how much she has actually grow in life ever since she landed on Terra.
The alien then pointed to his laptop. "Are you a web developer, a writer or a business person maybe?" She asked him, being interested in what he was doing in general.

Realizing his cup was empty yet again, he summoned a member of the wait staff again. Once the worker arrived, he requested that they brew him a full pot of coffee and just leave it at the table. He realized that this wasn't common practice, as he had held a few food service jobs himself in the past, but he didn't want to continue to pester them every few minutes.
"Oh," he said quickly, realizing that the girl had just asked hima question. "No." A slight chuckle went along with the word. "I'm writing a novel currently. Have been for the past 6 years actually. Kind of a passion project." He took another drag of his cigarette and flicked the dead bit off the end into the ashtray.
"I am a teacher by day, actually. For a local school just up that way." He pointed down the road along side the cafe. "It's not my dream job, but it pays the bills well enough."

"Oh, I always wanted to be a writer, but I am not so good with English language as to be a writer." Ukume said with a slight frown and then her eyes caught the 3 other arriving beers, that was bought by her waitress and placed before her. She half smiled at her beers and then smiled gently at the waitress, thanking her. "Your pizzas will be ready in just a few minutes." The waitress said before she left.
She then listened to David, and when she was looking at him, she had a feeling of being charmed by him again...his face was always really charming, and was one of the very very few males that she actually found to be really charming and great looking.
Ukume picked up one of her beers and drank half of it in one go, again. "Being a teacher is a really honorary job...one of my best friends is a chef and was taught by the best chefs of the era, plus the world would be a dumb pack of savages without teachers." She said with a shy smile. She looked at him, the more she looked at him to more charming he actually became.
She was interrupted from her thought by an unusual noise and slight glimmer in the air. Her ears where keen enough to pick the sound up, and due to being paranoid, she grew tense and in a few seconds the noise died down, but her eyes where focused on the glimmer, something was there in front of the restaurant. A few seconds later, a smaller space shuttle, became uncloaked in front of them.
Ukume, instantly recognizing the typical designs of the ship to be of her home planet, sprang up from her seat again. A wave of hope and fear swept across her body, making her tails jerk in fear, accidentally slightly hitting David in the process, but hardly realizing it, as she was hyper focused on the shuttle.

David listened while the girl spoke to him, catching the heavy accent and slightly broken English. For someone not of this world, she had certainly learned enough of the language to communicate, which was more than he could say about some of the humans he had encountered in his life that weren't from other planets. When she commented on his day job he chuckled. "Yes, I suppose you are right. Knowledge is a necessary thing to pass on I suppose. I don't think I would personally be able to deal with any further idiocy than I already have to. And that's with a tutored population."
The waitress neared the table just as he finished talking, setting down the freshly brewed coffee in it's insulated pot and some more sugar and cream. David thanked the staff member and began fixing himself another cup almost immediately. "A chef you say?" he began, remarking on the second statement she had made. "For all we know, I may know them."
David paused. He watched as the women became very uneasy again and cautiously moved anything spill-able to the other end of the table. He didn't want to risk that her wild appendages were going to spill any of his precious coffee. He observed as she focused on an area in the street beyond the gate of the outdoor sitting area and further watched as a glimmering shuttle came into view. He rolled his eyes and thought to himself.
Great. More of them. What is it about this planet that attracts them so much?
He watched as she stood hurriedly and scuffed a little when she hit him. He quickly glanced over to his precious items. All remained unharmed.

When the cargo ramp of the shuttle opened 3 people, 1 male and 2 females, walked down the ramp in traditional military uniforms, and from that, Ukume instantly knew that they where soldiers. She also caught the warn out but positive looks an there faces.
They nodded to Ukume after they looked around and saw her. Captain Deymi, we are honored to meet you, we bring word from home... we have won the war. " One of the females said and then paused and her face grew sad. "But our losses where extremely high. " She spoke in a low voice and her voice was shaky from the emotion.
Ukume dropped back down on her char, greatly releifed but also greatly pained. She was very relieved to know that the horrific battles and chaos that she was ordered to leave, did not destroy the planet, but was greatly sad for the loss of life, as nearly everybody that she has ever known was dead. Ukume started crying softy, and one of the females, went over and started caressing her. " Thank you for bringing the news. " Ukume said and saw as a line of cars where already staring to pile, not being able to pass from the landed shuttle. " After a few seconds, Ukume wiped her eyes and spoke softly with a shaky voice. " You should land somewhere else. " Ukume said with a teary eyes. The females nodded and started walking back up the ramp. "We have to go for now, but we will return soon... take care Ukume. " One of the females spoke. Ukume watched as they boarded and took off. By then a very long care line has built up, and some of them where alreaady honking like crazy, but Ukume just half smiled at the shuttle, before it took off. She then went back to her table and after a minit or so, the waitress finally bought her pizzas, placing them in front of her, before heading back inside.
