Lestat was immensely proud of himself. He still was not quite sure how he managed to rise so much earlier than Louis, nor how he was able to retrieve an ornate coffin so quickly for his new fledgling. It was a dark mahogany, coated in intricate carvings, and the lining was green satin. He thought that it matched his Louis perfectly, and he was like an exited puppy as he waited for Louis to rise.
When it had been an hour or so after the sun had finally set, and high time for them to begin moving around the plantation house, he was still waiting for Louis to awaken. Lestat had taken to straightening the lace of his shirt sleeves and his cravat, but he was very quickly growing impatient.

Louis awoke silently in the dark, stretching his body as much as the confines of his resting place would allow him. Then, the amount of room he seemed to have concerned him a bit. "Lestat?" he asked quietly. He felt on each side of him, both of his hands making contact with the satin lining on either side of him. Confused, he reached up and and slowly opened the lid, peeking out into the room. "Lestat?" he asked a little louder this time.

Lestat gave a smile when he noted that Louis was finally awake. He had taken to lounging on the top of Louis' new coffin, staring directly up at the ceiling. "You overslept." He said simply, one white hand playing with the edge of the coffin. "I am sure your servants are wondering where you are." Lestat turned his head and stared at Louis. "I am sure they have already served dinner and are searching for you."

Louis opened the lid all the way and blinked his eyes a few times, his sleepy iris' still adjusting to the soft candlelight in the room. He sat up straight and rubbed the area under his left eye. He glanced around the room briefly. "What time is it?" he asked, finally laying eyes on Lestat. "And what are you doing?" His eyes were still only partially open, his sleep intoxicated body still half asleep.

Lestat snorted. "Waiting for you, you dolt." He sat up and patted the top of the coffin he was sitting on. "For you, mon cher." Lestat shook his head slightly as he watched Louis struggle to wake up. "You need to feed." Lestat murmured. "I could run and grab a bite to eat." He smirked before standing. He walked to Louis and helped him up and out of the coffin.

Louis looked over at Lestat when he patted the top of what he was sitting on. He examined the rather large piece of wood before realizing what it was. "You got me my own?" he asked, a small smile grazing his lips. When Lestat mentioned feeding Louis' smile faded a bit. "I'm not hungry."

Lestat rolled his eyes as the smile was dashed so quickly from Louis' face. "You and your damned mortal coil." Lestat moved back to the coffin and sat down. "I thought it was high time that you had your own." He started playing with a thread hanging off of the hem of his coat. "I am sure that sleeping in mine is getting far too cramped. Besides, it suits you."

Louis smiled softly over at him and began to climb out of the coffin he was currently sitting in. Once he was safely out of the wooden box, he began walking over to his new coffin. "It's beautiful, Lestat." He reached his hand down and gently stroked the wood, his hand slipping ever so smoothly over the pristine, glossy mahogany. "Thank you."

Lestat watched Louis' hand play over the wood. Lestat nodded at his words. "Only the best for you, Louis." He flicked his grey eyes up to study Louis' face. "You're far too pale, you need to feed." He blinked. "You will never pass for human if you go up there the way you are right now."

Louis had been tried to ignore his level of weakness. He could hardly stand, but he wouldn't admit it to himself or Lestat. "Well what do you suggest I do Lestat? Kill one of my servants?" He continued to examine his new resting place, taking pleasure in tracing all the intricate details with the tip of his finger.

Lestat sighed and rolled his eyes. Louis truly was an idiot sometimes. "I would never suggest that Louis. Do you remember my one rule? Never kill where you live. It creates a dreadful smell, and could lead humans to kill you." Lestat stood and brushed the backs of his fingers against Louis' cheek. "Feed from me."

Louis took a small glance at Lestat's wrist before turning away again, still examining the varnish of the wood before him. "I said I'm fine." He attempted to stand up straight but nearly fell backwards, catching himself by grabbing hold of Lestat's outstretched arm.

Lestat clicked his tongue agaisnt his teeth in a tutting noise. He helped Louis sit down on the top of the coffin before sitting next to him. "Louis, I told you, you need to feed. If I have to I will force you, but I do not want to do that." Lestat smoothed down Loui's hair where it was still slightly rumpled from sleep. "You can drink from me with no harm done mon cher."

Louis was trying his best to be stubborn, but the weakness was getting to him. He turned his body slightly so that he could grasp Lestat's arm. He softly pulled the sleeve up so he wouldn't ruin Lestat's precious wrist cuffs. After a few moments, he raised his wrist to his mouth and bit down, the sweet taste of strength pouring into his mouth.

Lestat's lips parted and his teeth flashed in the candle light as Louis finally gave into the thirst. Lestat closed his eyes as Louis continued to drink, and Lestat focused inward so that if Louis started to get out of control Lestat could handle the situation quickly and easily.
