Lestat blinked as Louis came into his vision. That was one bad thing about being Louis' maker, he could never sense where the damned man was. It was very bothersome. He pulled a handkerchief from one of his pockets, wiped his hands with it, deposited it back in his pocket and then turned to face Louis. "I didn't want to leave you waiting for so long mon cher."
That was partially true, the other half of his reasoning for being so quick was that he had been incredibly hungry when the feeding started, and the man had not put up a fight. "If it escaped your notice I do actually care of you." Strange, the alcohol content in the man's blood must have affected him. "I know that you were uncomfortable, so I did my absolute best to hurry."

Louis crossed his arms over his chest, still trying to forget the sounds he had heard and the strange feeling that had taken over his body upon hearing Lestat groan. He shook his head slightly and began to walk down the alley past Lestat, attempting not to look at him to much. "It has not escaped my attention." he said calmly, his nose suddenly filled with the scent of the blood dripping from the dead mans neck.

Lestat smiled slightly at Louis' words. "Oh really now?" He took a step closer to his fledgling, his chin resting on the man's shoulder. He was feeling incredibly giddy from the man's blood. "You have something on your mind Louis, I can tell, even if I can't quite read your mind."

Louis shook off Lestat's comments, shifting his shoulder and causing it to break contact with the man's chin. "I haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about." He wouldn't admit a thing. Even if he wanted to he wouldn't. Giving up this type of information to a man that had already made numerous advances on him would be ridiculous. Lestat would never let it go and it would only give him leave to pester Louis even more than he did now. Which, in turn, would make it nearly impossible for Louis to continue to dislike him.

Lestat sighed when Louis moved. "Why are you playing so hard to get?" Yup, Lestat was most certainly drunk from that man's blood. He sighed and folded his arms over his chest. "You do to know what I"m talking about." He moved out of the alley, and turned to look back at Louis. "I wish you would be able to confide in me, even just once."

Louis mimicked Lestat's posture for a moment, then simply began walking again, moving in the direction of their horses. "Lestat just drop it." he said, moving in between their two horses, and preparing to mount his own. "I don't want to talk about, nor am I going to talk about it. So let it go." He hoisted himself up and over the horse, straddling the saddle and taking a quick look back at Lestat. He was wobbling all over the place. Louis sighed and turned towards Lestat, motioning for him to get on his horse behind him. "Come on."

Lestat was pouting, at least as well as an inebriated vampire could pout. "I don't want to get on the damned horse." Dear god how much alcohol had he fed that man? "I want you to talk to me. All of my fledglings hate me, I should have assumed that you did too." Lestat sighed and looked at his horse, for some reason the animal looked a little more frightening than usual.

Louis sighed and turned slightly, so that he could properly look at Lestat. "Come now, Lestat. You're being over dramatic. Hand me the reigns of your horse and climb up. We can talk when we get back home and your not so," he paused, trying to find the right word to say. "...distracted." Louis held out his hand to Lestat, offering to aid him on getting up on the back of his horse.

Lestat grumbled to himself and handed the reigns of his horse to Louis. "I am not distracted." He muttered. "My first fledgling threw himself onto a fire, my mother had to leave as she grew to hate me." He sighed and looked up at Louis. "And now you've grown to hate me too."

Louis shook his head and took the reigns from Lestat's hand. "I do not hate you, Lestat." he said, looking down on a very saddened man on the ground before him. "I have never uttered those words." He knew that he must have come off like he couldn't stand the man, but Louis was just stuck in such a deep rut of depression and sadness, something that was true before he had even met Lestat, that he came off as hating nearly everyone.

Lestat grumbled to himself and climbed up onto his horse. "I don't believe you." He muttered darkly. He settled himself on the saddle and took the reigns back from Louis. "You certainly act like you hate me, and if you did I would not blame you."

Louis glanced over at Lestat, almost as if he was making sure that he was stable upon the horse before he could take his eyes off him. He let the reigns fall out of his hands and looked down at the saddle, softly picking at the brown leather in a spot that it was already peeling from age. "Lestat, I act like I dislike everyone." he began, softly tracing his fingers over the edge of the saddle. "I will admit that sometimes you get under my skin, but I do not hate you."
Louis paused for a long time, trying to figure out if there was anything else he wanted to say, or even willing to say. After several long moments of silence, he glanced over at Lestat again and a nearly non-existent smile grazed his lips only for a moment. "You're not that bad."

Lestat grasped the reigns a little tightly. That man must have had more in his system than the alcohol Lestat had fed into him, either that or he had made one of the capital mistakes a vampire could make; never drink from the dead. He sighed and shook his head at Louis.
"Yes well, you're not that bad either I suppose." He shrugged absently. "Though I do wonder at times what my life would be like if I had not made you Louis. I am sure that my life would be eternally boring once more and you, well....you may not be alive at all." Lestat shrugged again.

Louis remained silent, but then opened his mouth as if he meant to speak. He closed it again almost immediately, second guessing whether or not he actually wanted to say what was on his mind. He sighed and spoke softly, hoping he could get the words out of his mouth quickly and quietly. "If we had never met then you wouldn't have the pleasure of teasing me." he said, quicker than he had ever spoken in his life. He turned his horse and signaled it to walk, moving back towards the direction of his plantation.

Lestat rolled his eyes. "You look like a fish Louis, either say what you were going to say or don't, do not gasp about for air." He was starting to feel better, so perhaps it was just the alcohol content of the man's blood that was affecting him so. "You're wrong." He signaled his horse and followed Louis. "If we had never met I would never have the pleasure of looking at you either."
